The Holy Spirit to Reveal Jesus
Chapter 3
That’s what the Holy Spirit does reveal Jesus. If we hide the Holy Spirit in our churches we are missing the key ingredient that Jesus left the Church so it could thrive and grow. This isn’t some deep hidden theological mystery it’s plain to see. This is what Jesus told his disciples in
Luke 24:49
“And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”(NLT)
It is clearly unbiblical to do any ministry without the Holy Spirit. Here we see that Jesus tells them to stay in the city till they receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus Loves us and wants us to succeed. Now I didn’t say that you are not allowed to do any ministry unless you have been filled with Holy Spirit like in the book of acts, I am just pointing out what Jesus told His Disciples. He wanted them to preach the Gospel and turn the world upside down and he knew they needed this power to accomplish it. So when you go into ministry without the power of the Holy Spirit you will not have the full effect God intended. I know most people who do this do it only because they have been raise or discipled in a non Spirit-filled environment. Some however reject or are ashamed of the power of the Holy Spirit which can led to doctrinal error and ministry disaster. You do not want to leave out or neglect the key to success in your ministry. Let me warn you, true success is not gauged by accolades or audiences, but by souls and disciples and these numbers will grow big even if they start small. The nature of the Holy Spirit is to refine and then grow.
