In Mark 1:10,11 -  “And when He (Jesus) came up out of the water, at once he (John) saw the heavens torn open and the Holy Spirit like a dove coming down (to enter) into Him (Jesus). And there came a voice out from within heaven, You are My Beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.

I have read this scripture so many times and I’ve always looked at it as just Jesus being obedient in baptism and John receiving revelation of Jesus being the Son of God.  But when God began speaking to me about validation this was the first scripture He led me to.  This gave this scripture a whole new meaning in my life.

Here Jesus is, coming up out of the water and as He does His Father has something very important to say to Him.  “Here is My Beloved Son, in Him I am well pleased”.  Jesus is about to be sent out to fulfill the call His Father has destined for Him.  But before He does, He wants to make sure that He understands one important thing.  That He is pleased with Him.  His Father wanted him to know that before you do one thing for me, one miracle, one healing,  one wonder, defeat the devil and go to the cross for all mankind, I  am pleased with you just because you are mine.  Jesus needed that validation from his Father, after all, he was a human being like you and me.   If Jesus needed validation, how much more do we need to hear our Father say to us, “This is My Beloved Daughter/Son in who I am well pleased”.  Let this truth sink in for a moment.  He is pleased with you just because you are His.  His Love is not based on what or how much you do for Him.  He loves you just because you are His awesome creation!  We see proof of that in His words to Jesus and He wants you to receive these words for yourself.

It was from that moment on that Jesus was driven into the wilderness, by the Holy Spirit, and there He defeated the temptations of the Devil.  We often hear how Jesus used the word to defeat temptation and that is true.  But how many times have we found ourselves in a situation where we are using the word over and over and yet seeing no results??  That’s because we are missing a very important key…LOVE.  1Cor13:2 “If I have faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not LOVE (God’s love in me) than I am nothing.”  Jesus knew when He was facing the devil that His Father approved of Him and loved Him no matter what.   He had received His Father’s  Love and validation and therefore when He used His Father’s Words the power was there to defeat any temptation and dissolve every lie the devil would try and deceive Him with.  When you know your Father loves you, you can face anything and come out victorious.   Paul said it best in Romans 8: 38,”For I am persuaded beyond doubt that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers. 39 Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”   So many things try to put doubt in our minds about how secure God’s love is towards us.  Maybe you had a Father that only loved you when you were good and rejected you when you were bad.  Are the daily mistakes or the traumatic events you’ve encountered let doubt creep in and you are allowing the enemy to give you feelings of separation from God’s Love?  It’s not hard in this world to feel unloved but the truth is that Jesus has passed this incredible Love down to us so we can receive God’s word and be persuaded beyond doubt that nothing can or will separate us from His constant acceptance, validation, and Love.

Take time right now in prayer and begin to denounce all the negative feelings and doubts that have crept in and tried to separate you from your Daddy’s Love.  Fear of Rejection, Condemnation, Guilt, Regret, Insecurities,  Depression, Self-Pity, Self-Hatred, Unworthiness, Pride, let it all go and let the Holy Spirit flood you with the Love of your Father.  Let Him supernaturally persuade you that His Love is forever and unfailing.
